Joe Gibbon

Joseph Charles Gibbon (born April 10, 1935) is a former professional baseball player. He was a pitcher over parts of 13 seasons (1960–1972) with the Pittsburgh Pirates, San Francisco Giants, Cincinnati Reds and Houston Astros. Gibbon was a member of the 1960 World Series champion Pirates. An alumnus of the University of Mississippi, for his career he compiled a 61–65 record with a 3.52 earned run average and 743 strikeouts in 419 appearances, most as a relief pitcher.
